The Burlingame girls advanced to the 1A Division I State semi-finals with a 45-39 win over Little River Thursday. Burlingame outscored Little River 23-12 in the 2nd half after trailing by 3 at halftime.
Burlingame Coach Jeff Slater said they did what they needed to do in the 2nd half.
Burlingame will play Centralia in the semi-finals at 8 pm. Centralia defeated Spearville 59-42. That game will be broadcast on Country 101.7FM.
Also at the 1A Division I State tournament at Dodge City Friday the Olpe boys play Macksville. Tipoff is set for 2 pm.

At the 1A Division II tournament at Great Bend, the Lebo girls were outscored by Hanover 54-47. Hanover used a 16-2 run in the 4th quarter to erase a 38-30 Lebo lead. Lebo outscored Hanover 22-10 in the 3rd quarter to take the lead and made a late run but could never retake the lead. Lebo Coach Patrick Gardner said they could not find an answer to Hanovers’ zone defense.
Saige Hadley led Lebo in scoring with 12 points. Lebo finishes the season with a 22 and 2 record.
At the 2A tournament in Manhattan Lyndon defeated Sterling 50-38. They will play Hillsboro in the semi-finals today at 4 pm.
