The winter storm that dumped up to 4 inches of snowfall on the KVOE listening area Thursday is causing lingering effects on certain school schedules.
*USD 329 Wabaunsee students who cannot attend due to road conditions will be considered an excused absence
*USD 417 Morris County students who cannot attend due to road conditions will be considered an excused absence
*USD 420 Osage City closed Friday

Light snow fell Thursday night and again early Friday morning, but widespread travel issues have not been reported.
The KVOE studios had 3.5 inches of snow, while Bushong got 4 inches and Cottonwood Falls and Council Grove both got 3 inches, based off mid-morning reports.
Coffey County remains in a winter weather advisory until 6 am, while Greenwood County is in an advisory until noon.
The good news? Warmer weather is returning to the area, although not right away. Friday’s high temperature will be in the mid-30s. Saturday’s high will climb to the low 40s before we reach the mid-60s for Sunday’s high.
