Saturday was pancake day in Emporia courtesy of the Kiwanis Club.
Cars were lined up outside of the Lyon County Fairgrounds Cloverleaf Diner as hungry residents picked up their hot breakfast in support of the club’s local activities. Spokesperson Shari Scribner says the hefty turnout shows that the community has for the club’s efforts.
This is the third consecutive year the pancake breakfast was held in a drive-through format. Scribner says she is hopeful it will also be the final year.
All proceeds will go to support service projects that begin in October. Totals from the fundraiser will be announced at a later time.
