For the 15th time in team history, the Kansas Jayhawks will be a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The Jayhawks are the number 1 seed in the Midwest Region and will play the winner of Tuesday’s first 4 game between Texas Southern and Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
They will play in Fort Worth in the first two rounds. Tip-off Thursday night is set for 8:57.
Gonzaga, Arizona, and Baylor are the other number 1 seeds with Gonzaga the overall number 1 seed.
In the 2nd round, Kansas will play the winner of the game between Creighton and San Diego State.
The other first 4 games have Wyoming playing Indiana Tuesday night.
Wednesday night Wright State plays Bryant and Notre Dame plays Rutgers.
Kansas earned the Big-12s Automatic bid by defeating Texas Tech 74-65 in the Big-12 Championship game Saturday.
It is the 50th and 32nd consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance for Kansas.
Besides Kansas and Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas, TCU, and Iowa State out of the Big-12 are in the tournament.
