An Emporia business has been named as the Emerging Business of the Year through the Kansas Small Business Development Center’s Emporia State University location.
Chi Em Eats launched in 2019 with help from the Small Business Development Center at ESU. Owner Mai Fields and her business partners offer a traditional Vietnamese restaurant, and the business has helped to support different festivities like the monthly First Friday Art Walk as well as the Great American Market, disc golf tournaments, bicycle events and live music performances.
Chi Em Eats and the Existing Business of the Year, The Building Center out of Marion, will be recognized at events in the future.
