ESPNs Adam Schefter is reporting that former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Charvarius Ward intends to sign a three-year deal worth up to $42 million, including $26.7 million guaranteed, with the San Francisco 49ers, according to his agency, Universal Sports & Entertainment Management.
In four seasons with the Chiefs, Ward played 67 games with 53 starts. He had four interceptions.
Former Houston Texans safety Justin Reid intends to sign a three-year, $31.5 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The deal includes $20 million guaranteed. Reid is the likely replacement for Tyrann Mathieu, who is an unrestricted free agent. With seven interceptions, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and a pair of sacks in his four seasons with the Texans, Reid has some of Mathieu’s play-making ability.
Defensive end Frank Clark and the Kansas City Chiefs have reworked his current deal with the team, which is now two years and worth up to $36 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Clark had 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 14 games for the Chiefs last season.
