A COVID-19 declaration from January and ongoing discussions about opioid claims will highlight the Lyon County Commission action meeting Thursday.
Near the start of the meeting, commissioners could rescind a disaster declaration enacted two months ago after Newman Regional Health needed emergency access to ventilators near the peak of the omicron wave.
Following that discussion, commissioners could approve a resolution assigning Lyon County’s opioid claims to the Kansas Attorney General. The state office recently announced a multi-billion-dollar settlement nationally would lead to around $190 million coming to Kansas for addiction treatment and prevention.
Other business includes a better than $45,000 payment for election equipment license fees and maintenance, as well as three executive sessions.
The meeting starts at 9 am in the Courthouse Commission Chambers.
