9 Area High School basketball players have been named finalists for player of the year by Sports in Kansas.
Girls finalists include:
Gracie Gilpin of Emporia High is a 5A finalist.
Burlingame’s Kaylin Noonan and Daelyn Winters are 1A Division I finalists.
Brooklyn Jones of Lebo is a 1A Division II Finalist.
Boys finalists include:
Derek Hoelting and Damon Redeker of Olpe
And Trever Quaney of Burlingame in 1A Division I.
Toby Miller of Lyndon in 2A.
Landon Boss of Osage City in 3A.
7 area coaches are also finalists for Coaches of the year.
Emporia Highs Carolyn Dorsey, Burlingame’s Jeff Slater, and Lebos Patrick Gardner for girls coaches.
Olpes Chris Schmidt, Waverlys Tyler Williams, Michael Massey of Lyndon, and Dennis Fort of Osage City for boys coaches.
