The Granada Theatre has done away with its COVID vaccination and masking policy.
Theatre Director Rebecca Herrera announced Thursday afternoon that the board of directors has chosen to discontinue the policy in light of the recent decline in COVID infections over the past month. This means the theatre will no longer require proof of vaccination or require mandatory mask use for unvaccinated residents.
The only exception according to Herrera is if a performer’s contract requires attendees to either have proof of vaccination or to wear masks during the performance. Herrera adds that if individuals prefer to wear masks inside the theatre they still encourage them to do so.
The lifting of the policy comes as the Theatre is getting set for its next performance featuring Ryan Daniel and Mountain Deer Revival Friday night. Tickets are still available online at Emporiagranada.com or the Granada Box Office.
Friday’s show begins at 7 pm.
