The Kansas Jayhawks rolled into the 2nd round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament with an 83-56 win over Texas Southern Thursday night.
Coach Bill Self was happy to get the win.
The Jayhawks had 5 players score in double-figures led by Remy Martin with 15 points.
Christian Braun added 14, Dajuan Harris scored 12 points Jalen Wilson and Ochai Agbaji both finished with 11 points.
The Jayhawks will play Creighton Saturday afternoon with tip-off set for 1:40 pm.
Creighton eliminated San Diego State 72-69 in overtime.
A 15th, two 12th seeds, and an 11th seed picked up wins Thursday.
15th seeded St. Peters upset number 2 seed Kentucky 85-79 in overtime.
12th seeded Richmond defeated 5th seeded Iowa 67-63.
12th seeded New Mexico State outscored 5th seeded Connecticut 70-63.
11th seeded Michigan defeated 6th seeded Colorado State 75-63.
Number 1 seed Gonzaga defeated Georgia Southern 93-72.
Number 1 seed Baylor rolled to an 85-49 win over Norfolk State.
