The United Way of the Flint Hills is feeling festive.
The United Way has announced May 4 as the date for its annual Campaign Celebration. A time and location are pending.
The announcement comes as the United Way is set to distribute over $300,000 to its community partners through grants recently announced. Chief Executive Officer Mickey Edwards says the United Way’s board was pleased with the total amount.
Edwards says it’s “an investment well made,” and she credits area residents for their donations. She also says demand for services offered by the United Way’s community partners remains high, although it may not be at peak levels seen earlier in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fundraising continues for the drive. The goal is $475,000 for community partners in eight area counties. For more information, go online to www.unitedwayoftheflinthills.org or call 620-342-7564.
