The Emporia State track and field teams hosted their first outdoor meet of the season Saturday. Both the men and women finished in 1st place. The Kansas men and women finished 2nd.
Emporia State had 11 first-place finishes.
Juwan Johnson had a big day, he won the 100-meter dash and was part of the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 relays that finished in 1st place.
Johnson was joined on the 4 by 100 relay team by Jack Watson, Billy Ross Jr., and Guy Ramos.

The women’s 4 by 100 relay team of Ashley Wildeman, Lauren Carlson, Jasmine Hurla, and Kadaisha Mpwo also finished in 1st place.
Abigael Reid had the fastest time in the 400 meter hurdles.
Chase Rooney won the 400-meter hurdles.
Alyssa Conway won the hammer throw with a provisional throw for nationals.
Megan Manis won the pole vault.
Grace Jacobs won the high jump after a jump-off.
Aaron Hunt won the men’s pole vault and Josiah Driggers won the triple jump.
Emporia State will host the ESU relays beginning on Thursday.
