Emporia Fire made quick work of a small fire that developed in a garage in north-central Emporia on Saturday.
Firefighters were dispatched to 1419 Rural shortly before 2:40 pm. Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says crews observed light smoke when they arrived and had the fire out about five minutes after getting to the garage.
Some siding burned, but there was no apparent extension in the building or to nearby structures and there were no injuries reported. The cause is currently undetermined.
