The ESU Relays begin Thursday with the start of the Multi-Events, the heptathlon and decathlon. Emporia State Freshman Abby Reid will be competing in the Heptathlon for the first time.
Reid says there are several of the events she is looking forward to competing in.
After day 1 of the Multi-Events at the ESU Relays Emporia States Abby Reid is in 1st place in the Heptathlon.
Victoria Pettay is in 6th place and Mary Grace Lassiter is in 11th place with 3 events left.
In the decathlon, Emporia States Coby Smith is in 5th place after 5 events.
Former Emporia State athlete Payson Maydew competing unattached is in 1st place.
The rest of the relays begin Friday. 60 teams and over 11 hundred athletes will be competing over the next 3 days.
