There is now only 1 number 1 seed left in the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament.
Overall number 1 seed Gonzaga was eliminated by Arkansas 74-68.
Arizona the number 1 seed in the South regional was defeated by Houston 72-60.
Duke also advanced to the Elite 8 with a 78-73 win over Texas Tech.
Villanova advances to the Elite 8 with a 63-55 win over Michigan.
That leaves the Kansas Jayhawks as the only remaining number 1 seed. The Jayhawks will play Providence Friday night in a sweet 16 showdown. Kansas Coach Bill Self says the two teams are similar.
Tipoff is set for 6:29. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning with the Crimson and Blue show a 4:30 pm.
The other Midwest regional game has 11th seeded Iowa State playing 10th seeded Miami.
In the East Regional 15th seeded St. Peters plays 3 seeded Purdue. In the late game, 4th seeded UCLA plays 8th seeded North Carolina.
