The Emporia High softball team was swept by Wamego, the defending 4A State Champions, in their season-opening doubleheader Friday.
Wamego won the first game 13-8. The Lady Spartans were led by Caitlyn Meyers going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI, she hit a 2 run home run. Kaylee Reimer was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.
Wamego won the second game 12-2. Maddyn Stewart drove in both runs for Emporia High with a 2 run home run.
The Emporia High softball will be back in action next Friday when they host Highland Park.
