The Emporia Spartan Boxing Club split bouts in Kansas City Saturday night.
Francois Jones won by decision in his debut bout and now begins his amateur career with a record of 1-0. Nine-year-old Mauricio Estrada Dominguez lost a close decision in his debut bout and now begins his career with a record of 0-1.
As a club, Spartan Boxing now improves to 8-3 overall. The club will now prepare for the Golden Gloves competition in April.
