Southern scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and 3 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 5-0 lead and never trailed the rest of the game.
Emporia State rallied scoring a run in the 6th inning on a Kaden Williams single and a run in the 7th inning on a Blake Carroll double.
