A traffic stop in Greenwood County allegedly led to evidence of an identity theft and counterfeiting operation last week.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a vehicle March 21 and arrested Sabastian Cooley on suspicion of several traffic counts, including driving while revoked and illegal registration. This led to a search warrant being served in Eureka, which resulted in the arrest of Christina Campos later that day.
Both Cooley and Campos were jailed on suspicion of identity theft, identity fraud, manufacturing false IDs, altering vehicle titles, counterfeiting currency, conspiracy to commit a felony, trying to conceal or destroy evidence of a felony and drug possession. Word on court dates is currently pending.
