The National Teachers Hall of Fame has announced its second inductee into the 2022 Hall of Fame Class.
Wednesday, Leila Kubesch learned through a surprise virtual announcement that she would be one of the five educators enshrined in the Hall of Fame this June. Kubesch is a career educator at Norwood Middle School and High School in Norwood, OH.
Kubesch is a TESOL and Spanish teacher for eighth to 12th-grade students with 25-years of experience in the classroom. Her induction is just the latest honor to be bestowed on Kubesch for her work in the classroom.
Her list of honors includes the 2021 Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence, the 2021 National Education Association Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence and being named the 2020 Toyota National Teacher of the Year. Kubesch’s announcement comes almost a week after Sergio de Alba of RM Miano Elementary School in Los Banos, CA was named as the first inductee of the 2022 class.
The final three inductees will be announced over the course of the next two weeks.
