(esu) Emporia State women’s basketball Coach Toby Wynn has announced the addition of another transfer for next season.
Katie Horyna, a 5-9 guard, transfers from Abilene Christen where she played in 44 games over 2 seasons.
She is a native of Liberal where she was a 3rd team all-state as selected by the Capital-Journal as a senior in 2019-20 and was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
She joins Oral Robers transfer Faith Paramore as DI transfers. Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn says both will make immediate impacts.
Horyna and Paramore join early signees Stevie Stinchcomb and Audrey Beaty in the Lady Hornets recruiting class for next season.
Coach Wynn also said that three players have chosen not to return for next season, Laura Garcia-Laffitte, Emily Weathers, and Addison Hooper.
Horyna has a connection with Emporia State as her uncle Eric Martin was an All-MIAA and honorable mention All-American offensive lineman for the Hornets from 2000-03.
