After a two-year break due to COVID-19, the Logan Avenue Elementary School Lion Launch Disc Golf Tournament made a grand return to Peter Pan Park Saturday morning.
The tournament serves as one of the school’s largest fundraisers to support field trips and other “out of classroom” learning opportunities for students. Organizer Samuel Barrett says learning that takes place outside of the classroom is just as important for students as learning that is done inside.
The tournament was co-hosted by Dynamic Discs. Events Coordinator Jackie Morris says they are always proud to be a part of local activities, but even more so when those activities are youth-centered.
More than 80 teams and individuals registered to compete in Saturday’s tournament. Proceed totals will be announced at a later time.
