The Kansas City Royals closed out spring training play Tuesday with a 5-4 loss to Milwaukee, they finished the spring with an 8-8-1 record.
They open the season Thursday in Kansas City against Cleveland.
The opening day roster will include the Royals’ number 1 prospect Bobby Witt Jr. He will start at 3rd base on Thursday.
The rest of the Royals lineup should look familiar. Salvador Perez will be the starting catcher.
Adalberto Mondesi will start at shortstop. Nicky Lopez will start at 2nd base. Carlos Santana will start at 1st base.
Andrew Benintendi will start in leftfield, Michael A. Taylor in Centerfield and Whit Merrifield will start in rightfield. Hunter Dozier will be the designated hitter.
Zack Greinke will make the opening day start.
