The Emporia Community has done well in supporting the annual United Way of the Flint Hills Capital Campaign this year according to United Way CEO Mickey Edwards.
During a recent interview on KVOE’s Newsmaker Two Segment Edwards stated “we’ve raised some money and our community has done a great job.” Edwards would stop short of revealing the exact amount of money that’s been raised thus far saying that will be revealed at the annual campaign celebration on May 4.
While residents will have to wait a little less than a month to hear exactly how well the campaign went, Campaign Drive Chair Mike Argabright says everyone who has given to the campaign deserves to be proud.
The goal for this year’s campaign is $475,000 which will go to support community partners in eight area counties. For more information on the United Way or plans for the upcoming campaign celebration visit unitedwayoftheflinthills.org or call 620-342-7564.
