Bobby Witt Jr will make his major league debut. He will become the youngest position player to make his major league debut on opening day in franchise history.
The first pitch is set for 3:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM with pregame beginning at 2:30 pm.
The Royals announced that they have restructured the contract of Whit Merrifield. As part of the agreement, the Royals have exercised their club option on Merrifield for 2023 and have added a mutual option for 2024. Merrifield enters the 2022 season having played in 469 consecutive games, which is a Royals record and the longest active streak in the Majors.
