Morgan Benjamin beat the March Madness bracket this season and took home hundreds of dollars in prizes as a result.
Benjamin was the grand prize winner of KVOE’s annual Beat the Bracket Challenge with 98 total points. She correctly predicted that Kansas and the University of North Carolina would meet up in the championship game and chose KU to win it all.
Benjamin says winning the competition was great, but nothing could top watching KU bring home a national title.
For winning the competition, Benjamin took home a $300 maintenance and service gift card from Williams Automotive and a new recliner of her choosing from Triad Leasing. Hayden Beardsley of Triad says Beat the Bracket is one of the more exciting ways they get to give back to the local community which is very important to the business.
The second and third place finishers convened at Emporia State Federal Credit Union later in the day to claim their winnings. In second place with 94 points was Ronda Allison who took home $300 in cash courtesy of ESFCU.
Allison says she plans to put some of that money towards increasing her KU wardrobe.
Nikki Thompson finished in third place with 91 points and took home $100 in cash.
Suzie Legault of ESFCU says they always look forward to adding a little more excitement to one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.
