The Emporia High softball team split a doubleheader with Topeka Hayden Friday.
Hayden won the first game 16-13. Emporia High took a 12-6 lead in the top of the 5th inning scoring 10 runs. Hayden answered with 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th and 4 runs in the 6th inning to earn the win.
Emporia High won the second game 13-12. Hayden scored 4 runs in the 1st inning. The Lady Spartans answered with 3 runs in the 2nd inning, 3 runs in the 3rd inning, and 5 runs in the 4th inning.
Caitlyn Meyers was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI.
Addie Kirmer was also 3 for 5 with 2 RBI.
Madison Cheek was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.
The Lady Spartans are now 5-3 for the season. They will play at Topeka West on Monday.
