The local housing market remains tight, according to Sunflower Association of Realtors.
Emporia’s active listings were at 36 at the end of March, with 37 homes sold through the month — exactly the same as March 2021 for home sales. This equates to less than a month’s worth of supply.
Homes sold last month were typically on the market for less than a week — six days — before sales were finalized.
So far this year, Emporia has had 89 home sales, down slightly from 97 through March 2021 but up from 78 through March 2020.
Elsewhere across Lyon County, the supply is even tighter — just over half a month — after 30 homes were sold in March. Homes were on the market five days before they were sold last month.
Year-to-date, Lyon County has had 76 home sales, down from the 81 last year but up from 68 in 2020.
