Coronavirus cases in Lyon County were up from last week’s report but were still low overall.
Lyon County Public Health announced 11 new cases since the April 6 report. There was one new death announced, moving that total to 120. There is also another death awaiting final cause information from the state.
Last week’s total was two new cases. Lyon County is now up to 10,155 total cases since the pandemic started in late March 2020.
The county’s weekly reports on Wednesdays now come with the state changing its reporting schedule to once per week on Fridays. Areawide, Osage County has the highest total at just over 3,900 and Coffey County is next at 2,420. Chase County has the lowest at 676. Greenwood, Morris and Wabaunsee counties are between 1,500 and 1,800 total cases.
