The Emporia State baseball team evened up their 3 game series with Washburn at a win apiece with a 5-1 win Friday night.
The Hornets scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning and 3 runs in the 5th inning to take a 5-0 lead. Washburn scored their lone run in the 7th.
Jared Kengott was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up the 1 run on 2 hits with 7 strikeouts.
The Hornets and Ichabods wrap up their series Saturday afternoon with the first pitch at 1 pm.
