The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Pittsburg State Friday.
Pittsburg State won the first game 10-1 in 6 innings.
Emporia State won the 2nd game outscoring Pittsburg State 13-7.
The Lady Hornets scored 6 of the runs in the 5th inning and added 4 more runs in the 6th.
Maddy Broxterman was 3 for 4 with 6 RBI. That includes a 2 run home run in the 4th inning.
She also drove in 2 runs with a single in the 5th and 2 runs with a single in the 6th.
Emporia State Coach April Rosales was encouraged by the way they bounced back in game 2.
The Emporia State softball team hosts Missouri Southern Saturday in a doubleheader with the first pitch set for 1 pm. Game 1 will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
