The Emporia State women’s and men’s tennis teams hosted McPherson College in duels today. Emporia State won the women’s duel 7-0. Senior Kelsie Burr won at number 5 singles and won at number 2 doubles with Micaela McSpadden.
McSpadden won a number 1 singles, Karen Santiago-Sanchez won at number 2 singles, Paige Stranghoner won at number 3 singles, Andrea Santiago won at number 4 singles, and Caroline Henry won at number 6 singles.
Santiago-Sanchez and Victoria Mackova won at number 1 doubles and Stranghoner and Andrea Santiago won at number 3 doubles.
McPherson won the men’s duel 5-2.
Freshman Sergio Vera won at number 4 singles and number 1 doubles.
Vera teamed with Theo Belmonte to win at number 1 doubles. Belmonte also won at number 2 singles.
Both the Emporia State women and men play at Southwestern College Tuesday.
