The Madison Lions Club has a lot on its schedule now through the start of May.
The club will be holding its annual vision screening for students at Madison Elementary School this Friday. Club member Greg Davis says the screening is important for all ages, but especially for preschool to kindergarten-aged students.
Next week, the club will be honoring some of the best athletes and students from both Madison and Hamilton with the annual athletic and academic awards banquet. The banquet will take place Monday, Apr. 25 inside the Madison High School gym.
Davis says it is very important to the club to recognize not only the accomplishments students achieve on the field of play, but also the strides they make in the classroom.
Once the month of April comes to an end, the club will mark the beginning of May with a fundraising golf tournament at the Madison golf course on May 1.
Davis says all proceeds from the “Grip It and Sip It” tournament will benefit the club and allow for it to continue offering programming to students and families in the local community.
He says there are several ways residents can get involved.
