Emporia Fire Crews paid a visit to Emporia State University Tuesday afternoon.
Crews were toned out to the university’s science hall just after 1:50 pm for a report of a suspicious odor. According to Batallion Chief Tony Fuller, the odor was caused by a malfunction in a wall outlet that melted insulation around a wire.
Fuller says ESU maintenance had the situation under control and was repairing the outlet as they arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.
