A group of Emporia State University students will be partnering with the Emporia Granada Theatre and Animal Shelter for a fun new fundraiser this weekend.
The ESU LOVE (Lead Organize Volunteer Emporia) group will be hosting a special screening of the Secret Life of Pets Sunday afternoon inside the theatre. Rose Stokes of LOVE says all proceeds from the screening will go to benefit the Emporia Animal Shelter.
LOVE is a group consisting of communications majors who came together as part of a project assignment meant to teach students the ins and outs of organizing and running community-based fundraising events. Sunday’s screening will begin at 3 pm and is free to attend with a suggested donation of $5 or more.
Those planning to attend can also get a free popcorn as part of a giveaway drawing. For more information find the Fur and Film fundraiser on Facebook.
