An investigation by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of a Topeka man for allegedly trying to solicit a child online.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, the office’s Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 39-year-old Joseph Vonsoosten of Topeka Tuesday after an investigation into reports of an adult supposedly looking to solicit a child online. Wells reports that authorities apprehended Vonsoosten after he allegedly made plans to meet with an individual believed to be a minor.
Vonsoosten was arrested without incident and is currently being held at the Osage County jail on suspicion of electronic solicitation and attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Formal charges are pending.
