Thick fog is in place across the KVOE listening area Thursday morning, and stormy conditions are possible by mid- to late afternoon.
Dense fog advisories are underway for all area counties. Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in an advisory until 8 am, while Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate advisory until 9 am. Visibility has been under a block at times in Emporia, and visibility across the board will likely be under a quarter-mile until conditions improve.
By mid- to late afternoon, there could be isolated severe weather areawide with hail the main concerns. All area counties are in a slight risk area.
Friday has areas along and west of the Kansas Turnpike in a marginal risk area, with damaging wind as the lead issue. Saturday has all area counties in a slight risk area, with hail and wind the main concerns.
