Warm, sticky and windy conditions are expected across the KVOE listening area Friday.
Wind advisories are up for Lyon, Chase, Greenwood, Morris and Wabaunsee counties from 10 am Friday to 1 am Saturday. Coffey and Osage counties are in a separate advisory from noon Friday to 1 am Saturday. Southerly wind gusts could be as high as 50 mph and could be sustained between 20-35 mph during the alert period, likely blowing around unsecured items, causing travel issues for high-profile vehicles like semis and causing a handful of power outages.
Any severe weather risk initially for areas along and west of the Kansas Turnpike for Friday night has shifted further west out of our area. There is a slight risk areawide for Saturday with all hazards possible.
