The Emporia State men finished in 1st place and the women finished in 4th place in the Emporia State hosted Midwest Classic track meet Sunday.
The men had 5 first-place finishes and the women had 3 first-place finishes.
For the men Xavier Hall won the 110 Hurdles, Cody Achilles won the steeplechase, Chase Rooney won the 400 hurdles, Joshua Morris won the triple jump and Kaleb Barber won the long jump.
For the women, Alyssa Conway won the Hammer throw, Megan McManis won the Pole Vault, and the women’s 1600 Sprint Medley relay.
Emporia State Coach Steve Blocker called it a good day.
Emporia State goes to Fort Hays State for a meet on Friday. It is the final tune-up for the MIAA meet to be held in Emporia on May 6th, 7th, and 8th.
