Missouri Western outscored the Emporia State baseball 6-5 Sunday Afternoon.
Emporia State scored a run in the 1st inning and added 2 runs in the 6th inning to take a 3-0 lead.
Western scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th and took the lead for good with 4 runs in the 7th inning. The Hornets added 2 runs in the 8th inning on an error.
Emporia State won the series 2 games to 1. They are now tied for 8th place with Newman in the MIAA Standings. The Hornets have the tiebreaker having won 2 of 3 games played against Newman.
Emporia State hosts Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday and will close out the regular season with a 3 game series at Central Oklahoma beginning Friday.
