Good news for Americus residents — the new outdoor warning siren is now installed.
The process started late last week after the siren was delivered. The longstanding siren failed earlier this year, and the Americus City Council approved a $20,000 maximum quote from Table Rock Alerting Systems of Kimberly City, Missouri, to handle the replacement.
The new siren is directly behind Americus City Hall, the location for the previous siren.
