Fire damaged a house in Osage City on Monday.
Osage City Police Chief Fred Nech says Osage City Rural Fire and other area rural fire departments converged on 808 Market shortly after the fire was reported a bit before 1:30 pm. The home owner was not home and no people were injured. Two dogs escaped but were caught by neighbors and safely returned to the owner once the fire was put out. A cat was trapped inside the house but was rescued safely.
A cause has not been divulged. Nech says the extent and degree of damage will be determined soon. The Office of Kansas State Fire Marshal is investigating.
