Emporia City Commissioners will resume discussions on a new utility service and a trio of other matters during their upcoming study session Wednesday.
Commissioners will again review a proposal from HomeServe, a UK-based multinational home emergency repair and improvement company, for a NLC service line warranty program. The program, if approved by commissioners, would provide up to $8,500 in water and sewer line repairs each and up to $3,000 for indoor plumbing repairs at a minimal monthly cost to the homeowner.
The commission will also discuss the fiscal responsibility of leasing small passenger vehicles within the city’s fleet. The purchase of a new backhoe at a cost of $120,000 for the city’s Underground Utilities department and an overview of the Kansas open meetings act will also see discussion.
The meeting will begin at 10 am inside the municipal courtroom at White Auditorium.
