An Emporia woman was hurt in a crash on the Kansas Turnpike northeast of Emporia late Tuesday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Jaella Gilliam was driving her car southbound when she lost control about 30 miles northeast of Emporia in west Osage County shortly after 10:30 pm. The car went off the highway, collided with a ditch and overturned.
Gilliam was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
The Highway Patrol does not say why Gilliam lost control of her car right before the wreck.
