Emporia’s First Christian Church was the place to be for a fantastic breakfast thanks to members of BSA Scout Troop 157 Saturday morning.
The troop held its first fundraising breakfast in three years after COVID-19 took the event off the calendar in 2020 and 2021. Troop 157 Scoutmaster Kevin Parker says despite the lengthy layoff, it didn’t take long for the troop to get into a smooth rhythm Saturday.
Parker took time Saturday to say thank you to the local community for its continued support of scouting activities.
All proceeds from the breakfast will go to support high adventure activities, such as camping, and merit badge programs for troops. Becky Morton of Troop 157 says both of these opportunities are essential to the “scout journey.”
Fundraising totals from the breakfast are currently pending.
