The MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships began Friday afternoon at Welch Stadium on the Emporia State Campus.
It began with the multi-events. Abby Reid is one of the Lady Hornets competing in the Heptathlon.

After the first 4 events, Reid is in 3rd place. Emporia States Victoria Pettay is in 10th place. Central Missouris’ Hannah Vanbuskirk is in 1st place.
In the Decathlon, Emporia States Brandon Wilkes is in 3rd place.

Coby Smith is in 9th place. Pittsburg States’ Trey Mooney is in first place.
Day two of the multi-events will begin at 10 am Saturday.
The field events will begin Saturday at noon and the track events will start at 4:30 Saturday.
Emporia States Alyssa Conway is seeded number 1 in the Hammer throw. She is coming off a meet that saw her break the school record.
