Ottawa swept a doubleheader from the Emporia High baseball team Monday night.
Ottawa won the first game 8-0. The Spartans were shut out on 6 hits.
In the second game, Ottawa outscored the Spartans 18-11. Ottawa scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to break open the game and Emporia High could never catch up.
For Emporia High Aiden Skiles was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Cam Geitz also drove in 3 runs and Vance Kinsey drove in 2 runs.
Emporia High Coach Anthony Markowitz liked the way they improved offensively in game 2 but they did not help themselves defensively giving up 9 unearned runs.
The Spartans end the regular season with a 5-15 record.
They are currently in 16th place in the regional standings and would play Topeka Seaman in the first round of Regionals next week.
