For the fifth consecutive year Village Elementary School is being recognized for going above and beyond in educating local children.
It was recently announced that Village had been named a 2022 Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School. The award is presented by the Flippen Group each year and is based on numerous criteria such as the implementation of Capturing Kids’ Hearts processes, the perceived climate and culture of the campus and a student survey that measures student attitude and connectedness to school.
Village Principal John Martin says he has been and continues to be proud of the work done by his staff to ensure the highest quality of education and comfort for their students.
Assistant Principal Brandi Mitchell says it is comforting to know that even at a time when many are beginning to leave the education profession, Village is still able to maintain the standards for which it has become known for on a national level.
Along with the dedication of Village staff, Instructional Coach Lauren Ayers adds that success would not be possible without the buy-in of their students and parents.
A total of 377 schools across the nation were recognized as showcase schools this year. Additional information on the program and the Flippen Group are online at CapturingKidsHearts.org.
