Crops are enjoying recent rainfall, and some may get a good benefit from the recent heat.
Here’s Lyon County Extension ag agent Brian Rees:
Rees says other producers actually stopped their planting efforts because they couldn’t get to moisture without digging deeper than two inches below the surface — which limits a crop’s potential success of seeds are buried that deep.
Some beans have also been planted recently. Those plants will likely emerge soon.
With rain possible Thursday night into Friday morning, Rees expects producers to “run until they get everything planted” or until the rain comes to close out the week.
