The Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has a lot on the agenda for its monthly meeting Tuesday.
New business includes a minor plat request for what’s being called the Kwik Shop Addition near 12th and Merchant. This follows the Emporia Rescue Mission vacating its longstanding home at 1119 Merchant, just south of the convenience store, late last year and dovetails with Kwik Shop’s plans to expand and reconfigure its current layout.
New business also includes a requested planned unit development for the so-called Mahtropolis Addition in northeast Emporia. The tentative plan calls for nearly 30 single-family homes in an area bordered by Riley Avenue on the north side, Trusler Road on the south, Whittier Street on the east and Peyton Street on the west.
Existing business includes an application to rezone property between Ninth and 12th adjacent to Michelle Street and another application to vacate a platted alley in Hammond Park.
The meeting starts at 6 pm in the Municipal Court Room.
